PERSEUS CONTROL SOFTWARE V4.0c

The new V4.0c software version allows connecting to remote Perseus receivers through any TCP/IP connection*.

All addressed issues are listed and commented in the database section of the Perseus support group hosted on Yahoo.
Please note that USB 3.0 support is not ready yet, so a USB 2.0 port must be used to allow stable operation of the receiver.

NOTE (*) The minimum required upload bandwidth on the server side is 80 kbps. Three profiles were defined to simplify server setup (GPRS, ADSL, LAN).  Operation behind a router is possible after setting up the correct port forwarding rules.
For more information about the new client-server architecture and setup, please refer to the Client-Server Reference PDF file included in the 4.0c zipped file.

Michael Feilen's Ratemonkey
Ratemonkey is a real time sample rate converter developed by Michael when working to the DRM+ transmitter project leaded by Prof. Dr. Andreas Steil at the Univerisity of Applied Science, Kaiserslautern, Germany.
"Last month I had some time to develop an application called Ratemonkey which does realtime sample rate conversion using the Perseus Receiver or a wave file as input device. The output samples can be streamed either over UDP or they can be written to a wave file. With Ratemonkey it becomes possible to use the Perseus Receiver at arbitrary integer samplerates between 1MHz and 100Hz. The resampled data can be send in realtime over UDP to process it with your own application. We needed use the application for our DRM+ research and I must say that Perseus does a great job here!"

SOFTWARE DEFINED RADIO DEVELOPMENT TOOLKIT

Are you interested in processing the wideband zero-IF data stream offered by the Perseus receiver and control the receiver with your own application software?

Microtelecom has developed a simple yet powerful SDR Development Toolkit (SDRDK) which allows you to interface your software to the Perseus receiver hardware directly.

The Microtelecom SDRDK includes C language APIs, control DLLs for Windows, FPGA configuration files images and a tutorial console application which explains step by step how to interface to the Perseus receiver and get out of it the data you're interested in.The SDRDK compiles with Microsoft Visual Studio C++ 5.0 or higher on Microsoft Windows XP and Windows Vista.

Please note that the SDRDK does not contain any digital signal processing code, either in source form or executable. The SDRDK is not meant for filtering, demodulating or any other signal processing task. It simply provides you the means to control the Perseus receiver and get the wideband zero-IF data stream as it comes out of the receiver digital down converter (24 bit IQ samples, from 125 kS/s to 2 MS/s).

The development toolkit is offered for free to those who request it under the terms of the Microtelecom SDRDK Licensing Agreement.
